Anyone else running yosemite off an external ssd (usb3.0)

I have the same clean install on both internal HDD and external SSD ,
When running/booting from the usb3.0 ssd, location services do not work, can anyone else validate theirs does/doesn't. ?

I am running off a usb3 enclosure and my location services is working fine.
Have u gone into system preferences to see if it is checked.

Yeah all switched on / toggled on and off , no change. Com.apple.geod sometimes stops responding.
What year Mac do you have ? This is on a 2014 Mac mini
