I'm sure I would've noticed this before but I found it strange when I took my iPad 2 home the other day found I could actually set a ringtone for it. Anyone else notice this on their iPad?

No ability to get ringtones

I was amazed when I saw those screen shots. My iPad 2 doesn't even have the purchase ringtone option. Is this something that apple took away? I thought it may have been because I didn't get a data plan, but my wife has a data plan and she can't purchase ring tones either.

My oh my.. My old thread.

Yeah, I guess they did take that option away. When I took those screenshots it was with my brand new iPad 2 that I bought on release day.

My 16gb wifi ipad2 has those options, I added all of the same ringtones I have for my iPhone.

Edit: does not have the "buy ringtones" option though.

Thank you! I saw that option and was wondering WHY it was there. Never thought of the FaceTime (or Skype?) connection. I'll have to check it out again. ;)

And now the option is available again with iOS 5 and Apple's revised ringtone store.
