It maybe human nature but when you start a fresh thread it ask's you to search first there must be a million and one threads all asking the same thing so clearly no ones bothering to do this
That, or they are new and haven't bothered to read the forum rules, or that they feel that there has to be a thread dedicated to their situation like there was nobody before that was in their situation. But the way I view the situation, if you have to ask if you really need something, then you don't need it. Nobody here really knows when Apple will update their computers or release new devices. If I am planning on making a large financial transaction, I would do my own research beforehand, and would probably find the answer to most of the questions through a Google search, Apple's site, or on the front-page here. There is a buyer's guide here that I think most people don't even bother to check. That is the best way to tell if somebody is worried about a device being updated, figuring Apple doesn't usually announce anything like that in advance.
 
Or if you're obsessing over the new iPod Touches coming out, simply buy the Mac, sell the Touch NOW and get a new one with the cash. :D
