Same here, but all my music and video files are stored on my Mac Pro. I use the MBA for the iPhone in case I need to update the phone while I am on the road.

I have all my music stored on the laptop. Videos, only the latest TV show episode is stored on the laptop, others are stored in the external hard drive.

yes...i have a USB powered 250 hd. I sync with the MBA for iCal and iTunes. like a glove!

No, I sync my iPhone with my 17" MBP and will continue to do so. I decided I didn't want to put a lot of extra stress on the MBA's lone USB port. Actually, I haven't yet installed iTunes on the MBA anyway -- a couple of days ago I finally did buy a 160 GB G-Technology Mini G-Drive for the MBA, so am thinking that I'll put my iTunes library on that.
