I think it is a deal. I already have several iPhones that are usable as spares. I really don’t need to keep my current X. So when I ordered my XS Max, I selected to trade in my X to Apple. They are offering $525 and comparing that with other offers from Gazelle and myphonesunlimited, I think it is the better deal. Sure, I could try private sale, but why risk the theft or the hassle to list it, meet up, and listen to them trying to talk me down off my price?

So one year of iPhone ownership has cost you nearly $500, that sounds like a lot to me! I had a trade-in offer from a company in the UK just before the Xs launch of £670 but in the end, just decided to keep the X (256GB) which cost me £976 with a 15% discount through work.

I’m on board with the GiveBack program.

I don’t take pictures or have to go through the hassle of listing my phone. Even with the beat sales sites, there are fees and chances to get burned by scammers. A few clicks, $525 estimated value, and I am a happy camper.

When you sell back to apple do you have to include the charger & cable or is it just the phone?
