My ophthalmologist and optician's offices are adjacent to one another, so after I've had my eyes examined I just walk next-door with the new prescription in hand and usually just arrange for new lenses in my current frames. This next time, though, I'll also be wanting new frames as well. Even though it's more expensive to deal with a company in person, I find it much more rewarding, as they ensure that the frames fit properly and they make any, even slight, adjustments which might be necessary. They're also around for the times when the frames have gotten bent somehow (they're titanium) and need to be reshaped again.

The optician in my ophthalmologists office has a small selection so I get frames elsewhere.
