Hiya, I've been looking and haven't been able to find a clear/transparent case that works with the Smart Cover for the new Mini. Has anyone found anything that is reputable yet?

Been searching for the same thing. I’m contemplating going the skin route. I know there’s one on amazon but the reviews claim that the case didn’t provide a wide enough gap for the Smart Cover to cling on to. Hopefully soon one pops up from a reputable company. For now I’m using the ESR case. I find the quality of their cover and case higher quality and fit than all the other ones on the market in the same price range.

I have a transparent case for my iPhone which was nice but later turned this ugly yellow. I would opt for a skin, too, if you want something on the back. Or just go naked and use a smart cover. When you fold back the cover it feels comfortable holding. I would hate for something to come in between the back cover and scratch my iPad.

Or get a Poetic Case and just switch between the case and the smart cover.

I also am trying to find a clear case for the back to use with the Smart Cover, wished Apple would come up with something

Oh. o_O not good then. Thanks for the info !
[edit] Indeed, they have a notice on amazon.com (probably added after all the bad reviews) but on their own site, there's no notice !...
I’ll keep an eye out for a more cheaper and less bulkier alternative to the otterbox case on the Apple store and let you know if I find one :)

I just picked up the OB Symmetry for the Mini 5 along with an Apple smart cover at an Apple store while at lunch. Had to try them. I reeely like the combination in my hand. And the pencil in OB elastic holder still fits in my Tomtoc 7.9" sleeve. The Symmetry is....grippy. Nice and thick for protection. Will decide if I like the $60 + $40 or $100 combination better than my recent Amazon deals on case/cover combinations for around $15-$18 each.

However, noted one issue for those who would use the iPad in "typing" mode with the OB Symmetry (left side propped up by smart cover and right side of Otterbox on table). While the smart cover magnets grab and hold well, the pencil holder elastic of the Otterbox rests on the table and slides down, allowing the whole typing position to collapse. I don't use the Mini this way so might not bother me.

Edited to add: OB Symmetry is screen protector friendly. Does not encroach on my Zagg glass.

Hi I’ve ordered this case but had a bad experience in the past with trying to take these cases on and off, is it easy to put on the iPad? Thanks! :)

About the same as either of the two I got from Amazon. Goes on easy enough, holds well, and doesn't rub against my Zagg glass screen protector. Buttons are a little harder to press since they're covered.
[doublepost=1555963315][/doublepost]I've also reached out to Zugu, and they are looking at making a case for the mini, but no timeline given.

I received the OB case but I didn’t like it at all, too bulky and ruins the thin design of the iPad mini, I managed to find a case on eBay for £7.99 which is gold with a metallic gold Smart Cover on the front and returning the OB case.

I ordered a different case from that seller for a relative. I had a free trial of Prime, ordered it on a Saturday afternoon and it arrived at around 12pm on the Sunday. From that I figured that they must be dispatching from within the UK and in any case, it does say fulfilled by Amazon so anything that says that should be safe.

The link directs me to the Amazon.co.uk site as I’m also in the UK. With the case not yet released, it’s possible that it will drop in price between now and release, taking it below the threshold for import VAT in any case.
