hi. anyone have this issue? when i sent a text message or iMessage, i hear distortion in the speaker, like if it's too loud or something.

I get a ton of distortion / crackling from the speakerphone when in a Skype or Hangouts voice call. Sounds fine through the earpiece. Standard phone calls and music sound fine from the speaker.

Thinking this might be a software problem given the limited applications that exhibit the issue. Are you also on iOS 9.1 beta?

My friends iPhone (same model as mine but gold) is fine on the send sound when the volume is maxed but his sounds a lot quieter in comparison. Mine sounds a lot louder and distorts :(

OK so after some testing I have found a solution for the distorted sent message sound.

In Settings>Music>EQ

I had 'late night' selected and it was distorting. I turned off and it now works fine! However the Skype audio distortion is still there.

Can others replicate the sent message distortion by turning 'late night' on the EQ settings?

My EQ was already set to "off" and the distortion still happens on my phone.

Skype has been fixed. it is a software problem. Hopefully FB and Google Hangout will update their apps and it will be fixed.

A friend of mine noticed this issue. He had his ringer volume all the way up. He turned the ringer volume down and it turned down the send sound volume and the distortion went away in messages. It seems like a sound/volume bug in iOS.

Thanks for that, I just turned off Late Night EQ.
