Siri always tells me that there is nothing connected. I was unable to find any settings... Works fine on all other devices.
I'm also kind of sad that they did not fix Siri to be able to search iTunes purchases. :-(
Do you mean search for purchased content only? Because when I search using Siri if I own the movie/TV show, it just says play.
Siri is not able to find anything that is no longer available in iTunes or has been replaced by a newer version.
For example I have a copy of poltergeist, and it shows up in my purchases just fine... But at some point the version I have became unavailable for sale and was replaced with a newer version. So when I search for poltergeist using Siri, she only brings up the newer version that is currently for sale, and I can't play it because I don't own the newer version... So I have to brows to certain things manually.... I have about 10-15 movies like this. Marry Poppins is another one.
Basically everything on iTunes has a unique ID number... If the content provider removes that content, and then resubmits the content at a later time as new content.. It will get a new unique ID number... So it doesn't replace the old content. The old content that you purchased is still there... It's just no longer available to purchased and thus hidden... However you can still see it if it's in your iCloud purchases... So I guess they need to change Siri to be able to search unavailable content that a person owns.... They also need to allow her to access home sharing content.Oh wow.... I have never noticed that. I have only seen the artwork changed. Is the newer version special in some way? Like an Anniversary or directors cut etc??? If its the same except owned by a new studio. Then Apple probably needs to change their search algorithm to prevent this issue.
Have you submitted a bug report?

And yes I reported it as a bug when I first noticed it... Unfortunately if they're not getting a lot of complaints about it they probably won't fix it.
I'll join you in that complaint. The old ID number needs to be linked to the new. I worked in the drug industry where product IDs get changed often. If the old and new IDs were not linked, it would be utter confusion.

Exactly what I'm running into. I've tried logging out of iCloud on the ATV to see if that would help. Nope.i'm guessing you're on the TVOS 10 beta ?
I have hue lights and with the current TVOS version Siri says he can't control stuff. with 10 he says he can't find anything to control. does this match your testing?
