The buttons are about the same height. The difference that matters to me is the size and the location of a few buttons.

And as for when? I'm waiting for the 2013 to hit the refurb store to save some money. So probably 3 months or so based on previous models.

I got about three weeks before I receive mine so you won't be to far behind :p. I wish apple would hurry up and distribute mavericks so I can get it for free, and while they are at it they should pull the plug on the Ipad 5.

Just ordered mine today around 1PM.

27", i7, 4 GB graphics card, 1 TB Fusion. Stayed with 8 GB of RAM and will upgrade in a few months.

I ordered it to the Apple Store and I got a estimated delivery 10/16.

I hope it comes faster. 2 weeks!

Hopefully my new iMac blows the iMac in my sig away in After Effects.

Just got mine today. What would you like to know?

3.5GHz i7, 16GB, 512GB SSD, 780M

Let's kick things off with Geekbench 2 results.

32-bit =13885
64-bit = 15068

:D

Wow...Now I can't wait. My Early 2008 32/64-bit is 3007/3236. I got the same configuration with 32GB RAM.

So does the WiFi work? The 802.11ac chips in the new MBA seem to be causing problems to people who are out and about on a variety of routers.

Enjoy!! That's exactly the configuration I ordered. Great results you got there. Can you identify the 512GB SSD? Is it a Samsung?

I was going to do this, but them I discovered it doesn't make any difference due to my student discount, so I would've only saved £10 if I went for the refurb version of the late-2012 model. Oh well. :(

Geekbench 3 results (32 bit):
Single core: 3226
Multi-core: 12564
Even for a 32-bit test it seems low.
Installed RAM makes a difference in benchmark results.
http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekb...x86+bits:32+

Look at the results for 3.5 GHZ processor speed (late-2013 iMac, i7). The top benchmarks have 32 GB of installed RAM. The bottom benchmarks have 8 GB of installed RAM, like mine. I have another 16 GB on the way and will compare benchmarks once all 24 GB are online.
Okay, additional 16GB RAM installed for a total of 24 GB:
Single core: 3594
Multi-core: 13310

Mine arrived today at 16:30 BST.

Finished setting it up an hour ago, really intuitive machine/OS (it's my first mac).

3.4 i5
1TB Fusion
8GB RAM
GTX 780

No issues with the screen at all, I'm blown away TBH.

I saved about $370 from a local retailer, which to me is better than getting a refurb version.

Mine is sitting on my son's desk at the moment. The screen looks great, but the migration assistant is telling me 22 hours until it is done, so I may not get to actually do anything until tomorrow night.

I received my 3.5 i7 / 24GB RAM (OWC upgrade) / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M / 1TB Fusion Drive / 8TB SAN today and it is running. Screen is clean.

Geekbench is 3610 / 13885 but being impacted by a Logic Pro download in the background. So I have not had time for a good 64-bit benchmark.

How are you migrating the data? (Time Machine Backup? Network from old Mac? If network, wired or wireless? Or?)

And how full is the disk on the old Mac (in GB?)

When I last used Migration Assistant, the computer had about 600GB used and I used a Time Machine backup to do the migration from. It was a FireWire connected drive and it took about 3 hours.

I was going to try the wired to the network method first. My iMac kept defaulting to the wireless connection instead of the ethernet, so I had to interrupt and restart the process a couple of times. By 10:00pm I called shenanigans on the whole thing, and decided to restore directly from my Time Machine backup. 40 minutes later it was done!
