Or does anyone have it? Thoughts? I like the idea that with T-mobile, it doesn’t lock my iPad to their carrier. As opposed to ATT (which is who I have for my phone).

How can you get this rate?

Also, the AT&T plan does not lock iPad eSIM to the carrier, unless you buy it directly from the AT&T store.

It showed up when I went to look at the plans they had as a promotion.

In terms of ATT, I heard otherwise. I was told that it does lock the eSim.

Straight from Apple:
  • AT&T (AT&T retail locations): The embedded Apple SIM is locked to AT&T. You can use a nano-SIM card from another carrier in the nano-SIM tray. Contact AT&T for details of their Carrier Reveal program to enable Apple SIM for other carriers.

I signed up for that t-mobile deal - pretty sure $10 is cheaper than AT&T would charge to even activate it on my account. Seems like a screaming deal!

I purchased this plan. I don’t use much data on my iPad, it’s more the convenience factor, so I think 5GB for 5 months is perfect. T-Mobile has great coverage in my area, so nothing to worry about there.

I did read it’s a one-time promotional offer though, so it may not be available 5 months from now for renewal, but I’ll enjoy it while I can. I can always pick a different plan in 5 months.

AT&T charges $20 to add unlimited to our unlimited data account, but with tax, it comes to about $27-28. I’ve been just paying the $30 AT&T for 30 days and cancel/add just when I need it.

Just went for it. Super fast LTE with T-mobile in my area. For $10? Why not :)

If I already activated the ATT plan on the Esim, would I need to get a tmobile sim to activate the $10 plan? Or would I need to cancel the ATT plan because the tmobile only works on the Esim? Don't want to pull the trigger yet since my ATT plan is active on the Esim until its clear how it would work.

I've been using it for quite some time now, just re-upped on my 10.5 iPP. Odd, though - I renewed on 10/29 and it says that I have 5GB left for 362 days (I haven't used it much for this term). Anyone else see similar?

Mine says something similar, 371 days. I did log into their web site after noticing that, and it said the expected 5 months there.

I’ve used this plan on my Gen.1 IPad Pro for a few years. By far, the best deal out there (for convenience, not heavy data use).

I’ve used both a T-mobile sim, and an Apple nano-sim for this program. I’ve actually got about 6 of them active & ready to be topped off in case I run out of the 5GB before the 5 months are up. I’ve activated them and used them in T-mobile hotspots as well as multiple iPads.

The only issue I have yet to tackle w/ the new iPad Pro is how to top off the old nano-sims. I know I can always do it on the older iPad the same way I’ve always done it. When I activated the new iPad Pro on the 5GB/5mo., it used the eSim for this purpose. I’ve inserted a nano-sim that is topped off w/ the same 5GB/5mo. and it works fine in the pad as well. That way, I’ve got 10GB/5mo. Again, very convenient to have w/o having a full-fledged (and more expensive) unlimited data plan tied to the pad.

Apparently not ... I tried to get ATT to move my plan to a physical sim and put my tmobile plan on the esim, well they screwed up and low and behold, my tmobile plan is on the esim along with the ATT plan .... to switch i just go into cellular and swap the choice ... i verified this also by completely removing the physical sim.

Are you saying that both of your data plans are linked to the eSim in the new iPad? If that is the case...having the ability to have multiple plans on a single eSim is GREAT NEWS! I didn’t try to activate a 2nd data plan as I didn’t want to lose the first one before it expired.

im not seeing this on my iPad. ive used the free 200mb plan for a couple of years now and this is something that I could make use of. is the deal only for prepaid or other postpaid accounts only?

On the new iPad Pro cellular versions, select T-mobile as the carrier and scroll down. The 5GB/5mo. Plan is listed toward the bottom of the listed options.

Wait, I’m trying to understand this. Do you get 5GB of data every month? Or a total of 5GBs of data which which will last 5 months?

It's 5GB total for 150 days. If I use it before 150 days, I buy another for another $10. It's use or lose - at the end of 150 days, any unused data is lost.

I like the whole, you can buy another 5GBs if you are out. I hope that is true.
I will say that after getting the cellular model, i will never not get that model. I’m doing the 10 dollar a month for unlimited using my friends account which i give him 120 bucks a year. And while i don’t use all the time, it’s so convenient.

5GB for people who like to have the cellular but don’t need to use it all the time is amazing.
