It may not be on there right away, but as you can see, it has the latest update for all devices.

You could also do a search for iOS 5 ipsw and yopu might get something tomorrow after it's released.

I suppose you're right on that one. I still like to do it for peace of mind lol.

That's why I'm figuring out the best way to go about getting the public release. I don't want to think I have the GM when everyone has a "more recent version" (aka same build but a public release). :p

Simple:

Different build number -> restore

Same build number -> drink beer

I guarantee tomorrow's build number will be 9A334.

The real question is how many of you will do a CLEAN restore? I myself did a fresh restore when I wen't from 4.3.3 to 5.0GM as I was jailbroken and did not take any chances with something conflicting.

Hence my rule of thumb: if tomorrow's build number is same as today's (9A334), there's no need to do anything.

I'll probably restore for the heck of it, but I'm just curious. I wouldn't be suprised if the build number was different, though.

"golden master" (geek speak) = official release (normal people speak)

There is absolutely no need to do anything if you've already got the GM. The GM is the GM for a reason. This would be like opening a soda, pouring it down the drain and getting the exact same soda again and drinking it. How many times has the official release not been the bootlegged GM we all get a week early? (and stop lying, you're not a dev (not talking to anyone specific)). I can only think of once over the course of all the iPhones and bootlegged preleased GMs.

Relax, it's a phone with an update. Enjoy :apple:

It's not because I'm worried, I'm just curious. I know what GM is too, lol.

Just so you know there has been an instance of two GM's in the past.

Right. My question asking about how many GMs have been different wasnt rhetorical. Hence me saying 'I can only remember of once when thats happened.' (Yup, I said hence)

Ok, so, I went to restore and I got the window that says iOS 5 and all its new features then the user agreement, as though it's a new update, even though the build is the same. Restoring now.
