I'm in the NY metro area. Anyone have a delivery problem?
Delivery was scheduled for 9/21. It didn't happen. The UPS site changed information several times. The first change indicated a 9/24 delivery date and the reason listed was that I requested a different delivery date... not true. Apple told me that there was a delay with customs or something like that.
I just checked again and now the UPS site states delivery date is 9/25 and they list the reason - "We were unable to load the package on the plane as scheduled. / Delivery will be delayed by one business day." The Apple site still says 9/24 for delivery date.

Something doesn't seem right.

Similar situation with my phone. I’m in NYC too. Weird thing about mine was that it was showing in KY and now it’s saying it’s back in Alaska. It’s delayed too with the same reason you got. My new delivery is 9/25.

Similar thing with me. Yesterday it said it was in NY. Today it says Anchorage.

Yup, same situation outside of NYC metro area. Both Apple and UPS bear some responsibility in their failure to deliver the phones on time. Apple should have had these phones in the US prior, to minimize the number of missed deliveries. Apple and UPS can both blame customs under the current way they deliver with such little time.

This isn't Apple's or UPS's first rodeo, I have no idea what's going on with the delivery. The order the tracking is in - it's like my phone is going to back to China.

UPS excuse was they have a contract for a specific # of deliveries per day and that Apple exceeded that. So they had to delay...
But this isn’t the first launch and it definitely was not there biggest so who knows what the “real” reason was...

OMG, it looks like another delay. The UPS site says there may be a delay due to "operating conditions."
Give them credit for imaginative excuses. So much for waking up at 3am on 9/17 to order. I'm at a point where I'm going to request some compensation from Apple. I With every day that goes by, I'm losing money since I can't sell my 7 and more and more are getting listed driving the price down.

It may have been the biggest launch considering they were delivering Apple Watches, also.

It may not be the overall highest selling phone launch in its own right, year by year, but...take into consideration that it may be the highest number of phones available for launch day than in the past. They are rolling out to a hell of a lot of countries in two weeks meaning they probably had a great production run.

Has anyone had any luck getting any recourse from apple for late deliveries? I ordered two phones at 3am eastern on 9/14 to ensure launch delivery. Both got shipping emails last week, and my wife's tracking went live right away and delivered on launch day.

My phone's tracking never went live, never came Friday and neither UPS or Apple could tell me where it was because the tracking wasn't live from 9/19 through this morning. Apple told me after two customer service inquiries that they opened a shipping specialist investigation and it takes 48 hours for a reply. Still haven't heard back from that. Just this morning (9/25) tracking went live and it says it shipped at 3am originating from Kentucky - nothing before. Seems like someone dropped the ball, Apple, UPS or both. All along my order status said delivering 9/21, even through last night.

Just wondering if anyone has asked for or received remuneration for late deliveries when it was showing a guaranteed delivery date when ordered and allegedly shipped.

I'd be happy with a free case or nominal store credit for the mix up. I've got at least 3 hours of my time into customer service chats and the 3am wake up to order and ensure the launch delivery that never happened.

They better fix it... my sister is having conniption fits about the delivery date. She keeps texting me about it. I keep telling her to call Apple and complain about it.

Having delivery issues too but different kind, I ordered my phone with Sprint.

I’m in NYC as well. UPS said they couldn’t deliver my package cause I didn’t provide a apartment number for my house.

So I was back and forth with customer service they realized their mistake said it would be corrected. They said I’d get it Saturday that didn’t happen. Then I was told Monday for sure. Still nothing and my tracking info says apartment number missing. So I called sprint, got a refund on my shipping charge and they called UPS while I was on the line with them to see what’s going on.

Anyways they claim they’ll deliver today. I won’t be home but I told my sister not to accept any empty box from them. If it’s too light it ain’t right!
