I would have bought two cases, and as soon as I had the receipt in my hand, i would have retuned them.

True, that's something we thought about but it was the principle of their approach that kept us from making the purchase. If that was their "Corporate Policy," it's a company that doesn't deserve our money.

I used to work at radio shack and I wouldn't be surprised if the same person who told you it wasn't company policy told those SA's to tell their customers they had to buy a case. The amount of job threatening that goes on there is a crime in itself. I'm glad you stood your ground and didn't fall for it too many people do. By the way those gift cards can be used to purchase an Amazon gift card that you can use to get your cases online.

Same thing happened to me, but I didnt need to step foot into a store.
Called around and a store happened to have two iPhones that I wanted. After saying I would be in and take it SA said "cool".
Within 5 minutes I was called back and I was told I needed to purchase screen protector, a case, and Applecare. When I declined saying I may decide on Applecare on another date and I didnt want to purchase a case sight unseen the SA said ok. Then another 5 minutes later SA called again to apologize that the phones I was to purchase were actually for someone else. Sorry about the confusion <click>.

I thought it was just an isolated event with a shifty SA but it sounds like its common practice at RadioShack. Hopefully Apple stops supplying RadioShack soon.

sory for bumping an old thread, does anybody know for sure what their iPhone 6 return policy is? Restocking fees?
