i would either get one of those smaller folding tables or check the free section on craigslist

Your legs would be really uncomfortable while sitting. There is no where to put them while working!

Don't like.

The uprights are plastic tubes. I have a similar set of shelves which I bought for the garage. It was wobbly and fell apart very quickly - see the reviews on the amazon page for your desk.

Do you have an iMac or a laptop or a Macpro?

We can advise better if you say what equipment you have, and what you plan on using it for.

I have a MBP and a 22' inch monitor I connect to it. I am going to be traveling a bunch in the near future so I want something simple I can move into and out of storage. I realize simplicity means it won't be as good as another desk - that's a downside I'll take - but I'm not sure what to do in the meantime. I've considered getting two filing cabinets and a slab of wood. But I don't want the added hassle of two heavy filing cabinets. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

1. Your monitor is gonna be wider than that desk which may or may not be a problem.

2. It really is wobbly. The Amazon desk has a tower unit on the bottom to weight it down. Yours won't. I'd be worried about knocking it over with a big monitor on top, or having it fall over when pulling out the keyboard tray.

3. Where will you put your MBP? Your monitor foot will take most of the top, your external keyboard will take the keyboard tray, & there's nowhere for the MBP.

Suggest a folding table, so you have room for your paperwork, or something cheap from Ikea. Or a freebie from Craigs List / FreeCycle.

As a previous poster noted, that "desk" has nowhere to put your feet when seated at the computer!

Suggestion:
Go to one of the office-supply outlet places (such as Staples, OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, etc.) and pick up a "conference table" with folding legs. They generally come in two sizes, 30"x60" and 30"x72". They're also very affordable.

Plenty of room to spread your stuff around on.

And if the time comes when it's not needed for the computer, it's still very handy for other things!

You could get a 'real' Ikea desk, and just spend 5 minutes to take it apart every month or 2. Just make sure you get one that's not too complicated and doesn't require more than a few screws that an Allen key can easily unfasten.

Actually, Ikea sells desks where the table-top and legs are sold separately. I don't even think the tops are actually screwed to the legs. You just put it on top of the legs.
