My airpods max will drain 40% battery overnight, there's no movement to it. I put it on a table.
I called apple support and they told me to do a factory reset which will temporarily fix it. Except it didn't. They said they are aware of the problem. But is there really no fix to this?

Plenty on another thread about this but 40% is crazy. I think we may be waiting a while for Apple to respond as I remember the issues that we had with noise cancelling on the airpods Pro after a December‘19 update and they took months to rollout another update

Sounds like mine. Mine lost 5% per hour every hour, regardless of whether they were supposed to be in low power mode in their case or not. I didn't like the "maybe there will be a fix later" answer, so I returned them. I am insanely jealous of people who are getting great battery life.

I think some of these are defective. But, I never ruled out the possibility that they were trying to connect to something, somewhere, we don't know about so they can never really go to sleep because the unknown device never really connects or disconnects. (Like maybe a relative's phone, or the neighbor's ipad, or a homepod...?) I ran out of time to keep guessing and trying things, but I was going to put them in the case and then take them out and put them in a garage that is about 100 yards away from everything over night to see if that really disconnected them from everything and put them to sleep.

Just code a firmware change to allow a button combo to be pressed that completely turns off the headphones. It's just a stupid design to have them always on.

Recently every time I go to grab my AirPods Max they are 1% battery. I charge them to 100% - use them once, put them in the case and they drain to 1% quickly. APPLE PLEASE HELP!

I know this suggestion I'm giving isn't ideal but maybe don't put it in the case? I seem to get better battery life when it's not in the case.

Same here, but it can vary a lot too. I’ve had a couple of days with no drain outside of the case, but this morning they were drained 50% overnight.

Patiently awaiting a fix, but not holding my breath. The APMs gets so much use every day, so it’s not that big of a deal, even if it’s not ideal.

Which devices are you pairing with your APM? It may have to do with that..
