Can't seem to find the full game anywhere, only the trial. :mad:

Found it for 100$ but thats a bit too much.:(

Does anyone know where I can get the game free or atleast for a reasonable price?
 
The original PPC-only Mac version occasionally comes up on eBay or Amazon. Unfortunately the later universal binary version (which adds support for gamepads, runs much smoother, and allows for playing online with Windows players) is much harder to find - physical releases were very limited and the site on it was sold digitally no longer sells it.

Currently £30 on eBay.co.uk, otherwise it would be cheaper to buy a cheap PC and run the PC version.
 
So--I did install the version linked above, and unfortunately it's the original 1.0 release. It runs okay, but it's clearly not as well-optimized as it could be. I was able to run the game with max AA and texture detail but low shaders at 720p 60fps (vsynced) on my Digital Audio G4. Bumping up the shaders resulted in an unplayable frame rate.

Since this is the original release, I'm not sure whether online is possible. If I can find one, I may just shell out and buy a copy of the universal build and upload it to a google drive so people can download it. There is a torrent available somewhere but no seeders :/

GameSpy Master servers are down so none...yet , though the game does have lan. Maybe something like Hamachi?

Yea, I had to bump it down but its better than spending 100 :p.

Online is probably possible with something like Hamachi.
 
Uploading it and redistributing it would consent from the publisher is piracy and is not tolerated on MacRumors.
 
It's still copyrighted. Just because the publisher doesn't exist doesn't mean that a company or person doesn't own the copywrite to the game. Because of that, the game cannot be redistributed without the current copywriter's written consent.

Apple no longer produces System 7.6.1 nor does it make any Macs that run it.

But System 7.6.1 and above is still copyright.

But more pertinent to this discussion, as Intell mentioned, it's against the rules here. It falls within a certain class of rules that the mods feel is an instantly bannable offense.

Intell is just giving you fair warning.

"instantly bannable"? That seems a bit harsh for a first offense, even assuming the copyright holder sees it and sends a DMCA takedown request.

OK, I guess that would depend on the user/circumstance.

However, it CAN produce a ban if there are continued violations

P.S. I don't make the rules. But I did agree to them when I registered here. My opinion or what I think of the rules is irrelevant to the mods or the admin. Only my compliance with the rules I agreed to matters.
 
If he uploads it to something like mediafire,mega.co.nz,4shared, its instantly bannable if he shares it with us?
