it only works like 10% of the time. maybe i just have really short arms and it cannot figure it out?

Just make sure to do it with the same "flick" you would when actually using the phone so the gyroscope does its work.

I have gotten it to work once out of the 15 times I have tried. It's a great feature if the stupid thing would work. My face just ends up opening some app.

i am doing it, my manager is doing it, and we can't get it to work consistently at all! terrible.

Out of curiosity, what color phone do you have?

white.

Yea your right!! Just tried this and if I slowly move the phone to my face, Siri doesn't activate. When I do it quickly ... voila!!

tried that. doesn't work for me. i tried all different speed and angles.

i thought maybe it was even because i was left handed so i switched to the right.

no dice.

Weird ..... Well I did notice that my wife was having some difficult with hers earlier today but didn't think much of it. I'll try hers when she gets home later tonight and I will report back.

I have a white 4s as well, maybe all the kinks still haven't been worked out with the coloring?

I was kind of messing around with it just now and I noticed that if you hold it up to your ear and hold it for about 2-3 seconds near your ear, it should activate it

I don't understand it. When I hold it to my ear, it does nothing, however it activates when I begin speaking, but only after I say maybe 3 or 4 words. For instance when I ask it "What is the weather like today?" All it hears is "Like today" then says she doesn't understand what I'm asking.

finally got it to work 9/10 times straight. for me it is something to do with the damn angle and way i'm bringing up the phone.

There are two ways to enable Siri when raising the phone to your ear:

1.) If your iPhone is locked and the screen is off, hit the home button once to bring up the lock screen, and THEN bring the phone to your ear. You do NOT need to unlock the phone for Siri to work.

Or..

2.) With the phone unlocked, on the springboard, raise the phone to your ear.

What the heck are you all talking about? Flicking phones?

It takes me weeks to guess what Apple's included in each release of iOS. Maybe an freaking on-line manual with all the little details? I finally found a few weeks ago why "nothing to undo / cancel" kept popping up on my screen.

Anyone figured this out? I've gotten this to work maybe 2 out of 20 times. Have tried all different angles, speeds, etc. So frustrating!

Maybe your phone is broken? I just hit the home button once, and when the lock screen is showing I just bring the phone up to my ear. Works every single time.

I've tried and tried and have gotten it to work once since I got my iPhone.. idk what's wrong :(
