With W8.1 Pro I was able to have run it as a native Bootcamp install and VMWare fusion 7 via the bootcamp direct hdd method but with W10 I seem to be only able to get windows 10 to activate with either the Bootcamp install OR the VMWare fusion install (but not both like before).

The method I used was to install 8.1 then upgrade to 10 with either setup.

Anyone having any luck?

Same problem here. I suspect/dread that my only recourse will be to buy a new OEM license so I can activate on the internet under BootCamp and via the telephone method on Fusion. ("free" upgrade doesn't offer the phone option) So much for a "free" upgrade if that's the case.

I just emailed VMWare support. Let's see what they say.

The crux of the issue is that the "free" Win10 upgrade does not offer the telephone method when activation fails, which is needed to get the dual Bootcamp/Fusion method working as outlined in this KB article.

So yeah, unless VMWare has a workaround, it's looking like we'll have to bite the bullet and buy a new Windows 10 license.

I upgraded my previous 8.1 pro (which was a system builder license) to Win10 after first verifying that it was activated on both native Bootcamp with under Fusion. I used the upgrade, but kept nothing. It was activated under Bootcamp fine, no problems. But under Fusion, it shows as not activated and I'm also not sure where to go next.
My Fusion VM is a Bootcamp VM.
I did use a freeware tool to find the win10 key and tried reentering it on the Fusion side, but it would not activate. There's no phone number for support either.
I'm thinking give it a little time, but if you find out anything, would appreciate if you shared.

I have my Windows 10 activated in both Bootcamp and Fusion. It took some time for the installation to be activated, I think over 12 hours. I ended up contacting Microsoft via the chat function and the rep told me to just wait and it would be activated because their activation servers were overwhelmed. Sure enough, shortly after contacting them, I was activated in both Windows and Fusion.
