I just sold my locked 32GB 3GS for $300 via Craigslist here in NYC. Yeah, I probably could've gotten more if I had unlocked it and placed it on eBay or something but I was happy with the deal since gazelle.com and buymytronics.com are offering less.

If you price it to move people will buy it. I got tons of hits via Craigslist.

You silly Britt!!!

Geez you Americans are the ones causing the stupidly low prices offered on ebay.

Do NONE of you realise that paying $200 for an iphone on contract is not the full price of the phone?? Part of the monthly price is paying FOR the phone. The full price of the phone is actually closer to $600-800 new...

Yes, and no. Yes, the monthly contract fees help pay for the phone but here in the US you pay the same price regardless if your phone is subsidized or paid outright. The only difference is that you are not locked in for 2 years, but what's the point of having a phone without service?

To putt into perspective, a contract WITHOUT a phone for the same minutes and texts will cost ALOT less, you pay that much BECAUSE of the phone.

In the uk we get our iPhones unlocked and sim free. The 3GS was £549 for the 32gb that is $827 , before all of you started listing your phones so low a preowned one would sell for about $700.

I mean seriously, in the uk they even pay you £285 ($485) to RECYCLE the phone and you are selling them for ALOT LESS then that even.

If you do not believe me then see for yourself https://moneysupermarket.money4mymobile.com/sell/mobile/apple-iphone-32gb-3g-s

Double what you are selling your phones for to RECYCLE it...

That's very interesting but how could I recycle my I phone from the US? They require local UK address/phone.
