Point taken, although I would argue that my error was taking the troll-bait. Still, the original poster's comments about Quicktime, WMA(?!), and file-sharing are at best irrelevant, and seem designed deliberately to incite argument. I applaud the patience and good faith which with the members of this forum have addressed them.

Sorry if I upset you, guy.

Thanks a ton to everyone else. I did not expect so many replies so fast!

"Seriously, you would have known how to work with OS X by now, If you just started doing it 6 hours ago before beginning this discussion."

haha, you're right (I haven't actually been at my computer for the last six hours though:) ). At any rate I have my answer: no, running windows on a mac is stupid. Learn to love OSX, or move on.

Thanks again

Upset?

The only thing that's got me upset at the moment about this post is the fact that you've been put off the purchase of a beautiful machine.

True, I think you're a bit silly to not use OSX, but if you have a version of Windows XP on hand, I see no reason why even using the MBP solely for Windows wouldn't be a very pleasurable experience. You don't need to buy Leopard, Boot Camp Beta will do just fine. True, I don't use it, but that is solely due to the fact I'm running a 6 year old G4. If I had an Intel machine, I would use Boot Camp. How many people here actually have trouble with Boot Camp? I doubt whether anyone does, for any good reason, at least. If you have a copy of Windows XP already, which I daresay you would, then you should not have to purchase any additional software.

If you want a Macbook or Macbook Pro because you like the hardware, then go for it! Whether you learn to use and like OSX in the near or distant future is completely up to you. Either way, I'm sure you would be welcome to bring any problems you may encounter with the computer, software or compatibility to these forums.

I think that was directed at my post earlier... I'll believe it when I see what Apple has in mind for the non-beta version. Right now I think Boot Camp still has a little bit to go, especially with bluetooth support.

I think that comment was addressed to me. alexbo, sorry for the irritated tone of my reply. Maybe I've spent too long on Linux forums; these Mac folks sure are a more even-keeled bunch.
