Ah, didn't know that. Watching a TV episode I noticed some interference, now I'm wondering if it was that. Oddly, one episode was clear, the next had the buzz; same volume, perhaps the recorded volume of the episode varied.

FYI since it was mentioned above, Zovimax has a magnetic charging connector.
Technically, you don't 'hear' the buzzing, but if you feel the transducers (the larger part that sits on your cheekbones) you can feel the vibrations as sound plays. These vibrations travel through your skull bones to the cochlea, where signals are then sent to your brain and interpreted as sound.

So, the louder the volume, the more/harder the vibrations. Or, the 'buzzing'.

Everything becomes crystal clear and much louder if you press the transducers against your skull (with your hands) when audio is playing. Sort of an entire skeletal connection there, LOL. 😀

Yes -- anywhere on your skull, including your teeth, your chin, etc., conducts the sound ..... That's how some of us hear. I've been using bone conduction hearing aids since I was a little girl and now use a bone-anchored processor which transmits the sound through an external processor to titanium screws which then convey the sound to the cochlea.

For listening to music, though, and watching movies and other videos, I prefer the Shokz, as they provide a more immersive listening experience for me.

Today's technology is amazing....

Now I'm curious if the photo on Amazon of a broken Zovimax was because they tried using their coccyx!

I admit I haven't looked into bone conduction headsets. I recently got the Nothing CMF Pro Headset and it has been working well, question about bone conduction headsets, how does the sound quality compare to regular ones? How is noise bleed into the surrounding area?

Sound quality is lacking. If you are an audiophile and/or someone who can tell the differences and slight variations between sound quality from headset to headset, you will notice. Bass, in particular, is weak. Bone conduction headsets are not targeted towards this type of customer. Fortunately for me, and unlike with coffee, I can't tell any difference.

Noise bleed happens really only at high volume. If you usually listen to your audio at a normal or lesser high volume, no one is going to notice unless you are in a very quiet place. Finally, some headsets like the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 add in standard air conduction speakers to compensate for bass. Those can usually be turned off, but if on, can be heard.

If sound quality matters to you, versus being able to listen to your audio and still hear your surroundings, then bone-conduction is not a good choice.
