I use Safari as my browser and am happy with it, having changed from Firefox a few years ago.

I was just curious if anyone here is using IceCat, if so, why do you prefer it over Safari or Firefox etc?

Not tested IceCat yet, but looking the developer's site we read that IceCat is a clone of Firefox with disabled/removed features that GNU thinks may harm your privacy and freedom. The latest version is 45.5.1 which is not build for macOS and you need to build it by yourself. The latest macOS build is 38.8.0, which may give you a feeling of GNU freedom, but it's 12 versions behind the current Firefox 50 (which includes many security patches). Currently, GNUzilla's own plugin finder service at gnuzilla.gnu.org is not working.
