Anyone install Saurik's PDF patch yet?

Installed and loving the fact that Saurik is offering protection to a wider range of devices compared to Apple's latest update. :D
 
Did the update show in cydia when u logged in? I don't have any updates for some reason.
 
Does the patch do anything to PDF Warner? In other words, do the pop-ups go away, or do we just uninstall the Warner after installing the patch? TIA

I uninstalled the warner just before I installed the patch. A few minutes ago I read a comment at the Dev-Team blog that said the the patch also contained the warner. Can anyone confirm that?
 
Is there a way to test this? If I try to run jailbreakme again will it give me a pop up or just not let it run?

The PDF volunterability is what made jailbreakme 2.0 possible. It’s a flaw in the mobile browser that left all iOS devices open to attack. 4.0.2 OS patches that and breaks any jailbreaks are on the iOS4 devices. The PDF Patch only patches the problem Apple failed to do months ago when this was reported. I remember seeing an article back in March about this and nothing was done. Now that a jailbreak was made using it Apple decided it was time to fix it. I’m sure all the press jumping on it did that. But really, if it wasn’t for the Dev Team and Saurik then this would never have been patched.

If someone reported this exploit, It'll probably be patched in the next major release (eg: 4.1) but definitely won't be patched this soon ;)
 
What is saruik's pdf patch? Is this just the solution to Apple's attempt to block the jailbreakme.com jailbreak with the new firmware? So if I download this new patch I'd be able to upgrade my firmware without losing my jailbreak?

When you install the patch, the PDF Warner is automatically uninstalled.

The PDF Exploit is how the dev team jailbreak your phone via jailbreakme.com

Now, Apple has CLOSED this exploit in 4.0.2 but it also breaks your jailbreaking.

If you don't care about jailbreak, go ahead and update to 4.0.2 officially and you will be protected from the PDF Exploit. But remember your jailbreak will be GONE and you won't be able to jailbreak at the moment with 4.0.2

However, if you NEED jailbreak, you have to stay on 4.0.1 firmware which is vulnerable to this exploit hole. Dev team has created this PDF patch so you can have 4.0.1 firmware + Jailbreak + PDF Exploit closed.

This patch doesn't happen to fix the whole iTunes 9.2 not recognizing my iPhone thing does it? And if not, you guys know of any way to fix that besides reinstalling iTunes daily?

Sounds like a problem with your computer, man. I'm on the latest iTunes, JB'n, no problems here.

Try going into -- system -- hardware devices -- and playing around in there...that's what I did and mine now works fine.
