    No

If you're talking about the current iPhone, the answer is basically no. You can't do it.

There are jailbreak apps that will capture choppy video, but the camera basically only spits out 8 frames per second.

What , you mean it doesn't record video , I didn't know that , it's worse than I thought that phone , sorry like but what is it with the iPhone that people like so much ? ( yeah , I know it looks nice )

I have a crappy Nokia ( paid £20 new) , people can ring me when I'm in the middle of a field or walking down the street & it's great.

Don't mean to be negative about your phones , I just don't understand folk spending a lot of money on a telephone ....any telephone at all , not just the iPhone .

    A computer yes , a phone no .

Yep, the jailbreak iPhone Video Recorder works surprisingly well in my experience.

I'm also a fan of the iPhone Video Recorder app. It works well, and has had relatively frequent updates to add or improve features ...

The developers are definitely saying they're committed to 2.0 updates on their home page - here - but it would seem surprising to see this app approved for the App Store ...

Seems like it is one that is likely to break one of the various Apple restrictions for what's allowed in the App Store. I could easily be wrong on this, but have also seen mentions of other video apps (Showtime) not planning to go for the App Store for these sort of reasons ...
