I'm trying to get a job at my local Apple store. Some kid claims they start you out at $6.50 then after 6 months give you a raise to like $8. This seems like a very low starting wage for Apple considering that I just got hired at Target making $7. Anyone know for sure what they start their retail employees at? Or a range? Thanks.

Jeez, here in NZ the minimum wage is over $10 somewhere. I would imagine that just like every other retail job, the pay would be low. Can't be specific sorry.

Apple's retail stores have different pay tiers.

Depending on what city the store is located in, the hourly pay for each position could start at one of four different levels.

The NYC/San Francisco type mega-stores are tier 1, and the middle of nowhere mall stores are tier 4.

I don't think the $6.50 - $8.00 is unreasonable for a small town, based on what I've heard.

well apparently Steve Jobs gets paid $1 a year...

True, apparently Steve set the record in the Guinness book of World Records for the lowest paid CEO 😎
