This is really annoying, and it wont go away. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know how to fix? I restarted it twice and its still there.

Verify and repair disk permissions on the startup disk in disk utility.

Zap the P-ram (hold down Command-Option-P-R while booting up and let go after you hear the bootup chime four times).

If neither of those work, let me know.

Four? You only need to zap it once.

Actually, Apple's site says to listen for the chimes twice

More info on resetting the PRAM

    What is stored in PRAM

    Sorry, I worded that badly.

The first chime is just the bootup, the second chime is after the PRAM has been reset. Hearing four chimes means you've reset it three times. Might as well keep the extra fifteen seconds :)
