Anyone know what this Apple accessory is for? Old metal case with Apple logo.

I've had this in my storage for years, can't remember where I got it. I think I might have picked it up at a garage sale in San Jose, CA.

Anyway, I've always wondered what it was for. Any ideas?

EDIT: Dimensions are roughly 10.5'' x 10.5'' x 4.25''

Those pins sticking out on the inside - wow, wouldn't want a laptop rattling around in that thing. Almost looks like they may have supported something stuck in there. Weird. Can't say I've ever seen this before.

Yes, but it's dimensions are a bit awkward for a laptop anyway. My guess is that whatever was in it, was small. Prob supported by some sort of styrofoam interior possibly?

True, it does not have a "polished" look like we would expect from any manufacturer. Still could have been used for some prototype. Just don't know.

I doubt it... the Apple logo is etched in very precisely.
