Anyone know what this warning means?

    Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/OwnerGroupTool" has been modified and will not be repaired. I got this in disk utility and not quite sure what it means.

    help please.

    If your system is running fine, then it's nothing to worry about. Most of the Macs I see have similar permissions errors, but they run fine.

    I get the same warning and my MBP is fine! Don't worry. I also read in Apples support site that when you get those warnings you don't have to be afraid! They are normal!;)

    Anyone know why this is happening? It would be nice to know beyond don't worry.

    If i remember correctly not even Apple explains why...

    It's just a bug in leopard. Apple has stated that these files do not need to be repaired. You can google suid files for more information if you're curious.
