I'm no expert in reading that, but for comparison: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1703499
Yes, that thread echoes my first thoughts. Removing anything from Symantec/Norton would be a good first step. Despite the passage of time, Symantec on a Mac continues to often be a bad player.
What do I recommend for AV software? one word - none my rationale - I haven't come across any AV software on a Mac where the results outweighs the performance hit from using third-party AV software.
Hi, so even if I have bootcamp for Windows, it's also fine yup? Windows have AV will do, and I cna just remove the AV on Mac
Any AV needs that you have for your bootcamp partition would be satisfied by AV software installed in Windows, while booted to your bootcamp partition. Your OS X partition would not really need third-party support, just to protect against the (remote) possibility of a windows virus somehow moving to the OS X partition.
As I have always lived with an AV in Windows before I move to Mac, always don't feel safe without an AV. So it will be better for your advice to remove it ya?
By all means have real-time AV running in your Windows installation. To do otherwise is foolish. But real-time AV on the Mac itself causes more troubles than it solves, and it solves zero troubles since there are no viruses for OS X in the wild. If it troubles you not to have AV on your Mac, download ClamXAV from the App Store and start it running occasionally when you go to bed. It might pick up the occasional Windows virus received by email, but that will be about it.
