Anyone manually adjust their brightness?

Holy crap does it get bright... But does anyone do this all the time? How does it effect the battery? Any tests done?

I turned the auto adjustment off, and set the brightness to very low. I did this with my Ipods, too and always get better battery life. I hardly ever look at it and think I need to make it brighter.

For the automatic adjustment, doesnt it just read the new light after its unlocked? therefore its not constant, and shouldnt use that much battery.

Yep, mine is always set at 33% or so.
