The narcissistic ego manics love showing off in public.

It's the equivalent of hard of hearing old people yelling into their cell phone. An amazing display of self importance.

Siri only impresses those who need to be the center of attention.

I can do anything Siri can, in complete silence, and quite a bit faster.

So NO I have never used that gimmick.

And then there are those of us that find Siri very useful, but are embarrassed to use it in public and therefore avoid it altogether or do so as quietly and discreetly as possible.

One example for me is once a week I give a friend a ride. On my way out the door with my hands fairly full, it's quicker and easier to tell Siri to send him a message stating I'm on my way. That way he knows approximately what time to meet me outside. Sometimes there are other people in the hallway that overhear me, but I try not to be obvious with it.

Not all Siri users are narcissistic.

When I had the 4S I used it a few times in the beginning and then just started playing around with Siri until I completely stop.

I just got my 64GB Black 5 and I activated her but I doubt I'll use her.

I use it daily for setting alarms and timers. I use it maybe 1-2 times a week for checking the weather. Every once in a while I'll use dictation to write a message.

I'd use Siri more if it was more accurate at transcribing my voice. My biggest issues with it right now are a lack of functions you can perform with Siri and more importantly it not understanding what I say. It is about 89% accurate at transcribing what I say and that is not high enough for me to be confident with it.

For example if I dictate a message to Siri I have to read that message afterwards because 99 times out of 100 there will be at-least one word it got wrong (often more than one) and I'll need to go back and correct it. I would use Siri all the time if I was confident it understood me 100% of the time.

Rarely. Sometimes when I'm home alone and feel fancy I'll use her lol but otherwise no.

The thought of using her in public is so cringeworthy to me, I mean how arrogant would that look?

She sounds different on the 5... Anyone else notice that?

She sounds different on the 4S after upgrading to iOS 6 as well.

I've had Siri since my 4S, and use it all the time to send texts, text for me while I drive, sometimes set alarms or reminders to get my laundry.

I haven't played with her much after her update with the new software. I'll have to check it out.

Siri lets me down far too often. With the "improved" Siri in iOS 6, I decided to try it out today....

I will give her a few more chances before I decide it is not worth the waste of time, as I did with Siri iOS5...

Speaking to your phone using a stupid app that takes twice as long to do the same thing if you'd do it yourself?

If it worked for me, I would be happy. For example, walking down a busy street I can pay more attention to my surroundings while talking to the phone, rather than focused on the screen typing. While I am driving I could be responding to texts or asking Navigation to take me to a new location without taking my eyes off the road. I agree, for every day things it's silly. But there are certainly situations where it can be very useful.

Since I had the iPhone 4, I didn't have Siri and didn't care because I knew I wouldn't be using her anyway. I was startled last week when doing the iOS 6 update to discover that Siri was now taking up residence in my third-gen iPad. I never even allowed her to be turned on. Come Friday and the new iPhone 5....once again I have not turned Siri on. She'll just have to lurk quietly, silently, within my devices because I am not interested in letting her out. I know she and I would not be compatible and there is no point in wasting my time.

For those who can benefit from her, she's undoubtedly wonderful, and I'm sure the convenience is terrific. Enjoy!
