Looks like it came out a couple of days ago. Im hoping its fixes the battery drain issue and the connectivity issues. So far so good.

I’ve experienced three almost full drains overnight (in the case) now in the last 10 days. Factory reset after each time.

Yes, I’m on latest firmware for at least two of the drains.

I love them, I really do, but I’m torn. Tempted to return them while I can and move on. My AirPods Pro are lemons that Apple won’t replace, I don’t want to be stuck with £550 headphones that I repeatedly have to return/replace and go through hour long support calls to activate a return. I’ve generally had good service with Apple support (with the odd exception) but it’s so damn time consuming. Fine if it’s a one off, but I’m concerned battery drain will be like 2016 MacBook keyboards, a constant issue that affects some users, and it’s a merry go round of support malarkey. Urgh.

In theory, I don’t mind the always on nature of them, but only if it’s bullet proof reliable. Having had my experience, rare/faulty or not, I feel like I’ll be waiting for it to happen again, and I’m coming back round to the idea that you simply can’t beat a good old power button.

It’s a pity as, for home use, they dump on my XM4’s from a great height and when spatial audio comes to Apple TV hardware, wow. The XM4’s are awesome for travel though.
