I hope something changes. Sadly any Mobile Share plan I would switch to would cost 15-35 dollars a month more so I'm not gonna do that.

If T-mobile manages to get towers setup in one area I visit each summer I would definitely consider switching.

Anyone on ATT Unlimited...

2 months in a row now I had to call in to have the throttling removed even though my bill cycle started over. It's like they are really trying to do everything possible to get us to switch off

I'm sure they are. They want us on more lucrative data plans. Funny how they can give away 40GB of data for the price of 20GB without any "congestion" issues.

There is NO reason to still be holding onto AT&T's pathetic unlimited plan; well, unless you just enjoy bragging that you have it? I gave it up for the $100 20BG plan back in October.

Absolutely no reason to still have it. AT&T will never change the data threshold. You are all over paying for it, too.

My bill is $72 for 450 minutes, 1000 texts, and unlimited data. The reason I still have it is the cost. Show me a cheaper plan and I'll make the switch.

Ditto, any plan 10gigs or higher is gonna cost me more money, any less and while i'll save money, overages will be a big issue.

At&t is changing its throttling policies in Q1 or Q2 of this year. They will only throttle when you are on a congested tower.

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...ed-data-throttling-says-the-ftc-cant-stop-it/

As for the data throttling suit, the FTC complained about AT&T’s practice of slowing the data speeds of unlimited customers after they use a certain amount of data each month. AT&T is still throttling unlimited data users with LTE devices after they exceed 5GB each month. These customers see their speeds dramatically reduced even when AT&T’s network is not congested. Later this year, AT&T claims it will stop throttling these customers except in cases when cell towers are congested. AT&T already applies this less strict policy to non-LTE devices.

There is, its cost efficient, especially for an individual line.

You can still get unlimited Data for Tmobile, just not for LTE. They automatically sign you up for mobile share data with rollover for LTE on all new accounts. I wouldn't be surprised if T mobile does away with unlimited data all together.

I still have my AT&T UDP and I can say they've tried everything under the sun to get me to switch to a mobile share plan. I average about 5 1/2 - 6 GB on a bad month so I'm good. I only have a single line but it would make sense for anyone with more than two lines on an account.

This. No use going to a mobile share plan when there's only one line on the account. And I don't think anyone is bragging over still having an ATT UDP, since they've been throttling for years now and is basically useless after 5GB's, but still better than getting raped under a tiered plan with overages.

T-Mobile does have unlimited LTE. Their huge differentiatior is offering unlimited data, so I highly doubt they will go away with it anytime soon.

That's great news.
But I wonder what they consider non congested towers.
Hope they dont consider all of them congested and still throttle everyone.
Guess we gotta wait and see.

Its not really useless.
I can still do pretty much everything with 0.5mb speed.
Just not as fast as before but like you said better than racking up more monthly charges on your bill.

gotta love verizon :)

They were going to throttle, but backed off when the FCC (not the FTC) pushed back. One difference is that Verizon has the Band 13 LTE spectrum with its forced openness rules, so perhaps the FCC has more leverage over them.

You're correct, oversight on my part.

Same here and agreed. Will wait out and see what comes from that lawsuit.

In other news, not too long ago I received a notice from AT&T from when they got hacked, and I was one of those affected. Long story short, I received a bill in the mail 3 weeks later from Verizon Wireless, apparently someone opened up service under my name and info. Awesome.
