why on earth did they put that circle on an otherwise elegant case?
No idea but you would think if the megsafe worked as advertised it’s a useless icon on the case.
Order a silicon case. I've had them all over the years and Silicon really beats them all because it doesn't slide all over the place.
Still browsing cases but one thing is for sure I won’t be spending £49 on an Apple silicone case. I’d rather buy one for £10 which will be better quality and without the Apple logo.
Lol omg. It's not an icon. It IS the magnet. There are magnets in the clear case like in every other case.

That white ring IS the magnet, same for the line, it’s a magnet for the wire... I think.

I will be buying a clear 'soft' case from Spigen for about £8 from Amazon, very high quality IMO
they also do one with a harder back too though I've not tried that.

Haha totally makes sense now. But knowing apple terrible integration of it in a clear case. I would have discontinued it.

I pre-ordered the Pacific Blue IPhone 12 Pro, and was having the hardest time deciding on a case / wallet. None of the silicon cases were exactly meshing with the Pacific Blue color other than the Plum color. Do we think the plum case is a little fem? I think the contrast between that and the blue is perfect.
Thought about going naked, but have been doing so with my 8 Plus for the last year. For 2 years it did not have one scratch on it, and in a year without the case, the thing is in tatters and I can't trade it in for any cash back which is a shame.

Ordered Mag Safe Clear Case and the Baltic Blue wallet to go with the pacific blue IPP. The Mag Safe circle on the case doesn’t bother me, but we will see when it arrives. Always like the look of a phone without a case. Not sure about the wallet, highly unlikely I will keep it but hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
How could Apple have so badly under estimated the amount of demand in their products? Even this morning, it took me a good half hour to order the damn phone, as the website was continually crashing, taking me to "Bad Getaway" pages. Was thinking about purchasing a wallet to swap on and off when most convenient for where it was i was going, but a month-long wait is crazy.
I don’t think it’s about branding MagSafe, I think it’s about covering up the magnets in the case that would otherwise be visible.

I always get a $12 or $15 one from Amazon. They work well, protect on drops (with 3 kids this gets tested often), and are cheap. I don't see much yellowing, maybe after 6 months there is a tinge?
Apple didn't under estimate. There is a genuine limit to what their systems can support and it's likely not worth them increasing capacity beyond where it's at for a one day per year event.
