2 things...

I did sell the 17" C2D MB Pro and bought the AIR.

I did buy the Sanyo Xacti HD700. :D

Just got it this week and have not had time to play yet.

Full HD editing?

Anyone really editing full HD with the HD1000? In fact the mpeg4 files from the Xacti 1000 HD ar not AVCHD so it can't be imported by "log and transfer" in FCP. :(

Any suggestions?

Very weird, I actually find some footage I took lose WORSE on an HDTV via HDMI connection tonight. We watched it on an SDTV after shooting, looked great.. then I put it on our 50" Plasma through HDMI and it looks splotchy, almost a 'watercolor' like effect. We lit the heck out of it with 2 1000 watt lights to avoid the 'grainy' low-light performance that this camera gives.

In fact the only good footage I've managed to get is outside mid-summer mid-day lighting. Any tips? Looks very very weird on HDTV.

Now I know this is an old thread, but I found most of its content very useful as I too own a silver Sanyo HD1000, and Im looking for some help.

Seeing as the HD1000 lacks firewire, is there any alternative to connect the HD1000 to a laptop to view what Im recording on the camera.? Basically instead of using the small lcd inbuilt in the camera, I wish to use either my MBP, or Windows machine as a monitor whilst recording my videos.

I shoot a lot of static videos you see, including unboxing videos of various gadgets, and accessories, and really could do with a monitor functionality to get the best angled shots Im looking for.

If anyone out there still owns one of these great Cameras, please get in touch. I have the silver Sanyo Xacti HD1000 with remote control, and docking station, and various leads for HDMI etc.
