I will.
Said this in another thread. Although I could, I'm not willing to spend big on the first gen. Accordingly, went for the 38mm Black Sport as I plan on wearing it on my right wrist occasionally while I wear my ever-present Swiss mechanicals on the left wrist. So smaller the better. In times past, I've worn a watch on my left wrist and Fitbit or equivalent on my right, no big deal in casual situations. Besides, have you seen all the junk some people wear on the opposite wrist to their watch these days? Charity bands, strips of leather, bracelets blah blah.
An obvious no-no in formal circumstances but 95% of my life is informal, including work, so it won't be an issue.
Don't even see it as duplicating function. Although the Apple Watch is more accurate than even my COSC certified watches, it's otherwise a pretty poor time piece, not being always on and requiring constant charging. Similarly, my mechanicals are terrible at fitness tracking and answering phone calls.
I do think wearing the glitzier Apple straps (Milanese or either link bracelet) in this way, on the second wrist, would look a bit....gauche....but that's purely my opinion, and I'm hardly a good judge given both my wrists will be adorned. I don't want to be accused of Nilaying! My fashion sense is limited (i.e. non existent) to various polo/short sleeved shirts that, thanks to 20 years at the gym, I look pretty damn good in
Ultimately, I'd have to skip the Apple Watch altogether if I didn't do this. In a battle of "Which shall I wear today?" between the Apple Watch and my mechanical watches, the Apple Watch will always lose. I'll be wearing my vintage Seamaster, Tudor Pelagos or various old Hamiltons to the grave.
