I'm really enjoying your book Codex, Adey. Great stuff - anyone thinking of getting it, do it! It's no surprise why it's doing so well in the thriller chart. I'll leave you a review once I've finished it.

Feel free to add me on Facebook if you like!

Thank you, Titus, that's very kind of you to say.

I must add that from what I've read of 'The Dare Ring' so far, the same applies to you and anyone thinking of buying.... do it! Well worth the cover price and more! I too will review when I reach the end, though I'm not getting onto it as often as I'd like. I see that 'The Dare Ring' is also doing deservedly well on the iBookstore charts. I currently have you at #85 on the entire store and a very cool #9 in Mysteries and Thrillers! Excellent! The positions (and higher) are well deserved and I hope the novel continues to climb for you. Well done.

Ah, it seems you and I have turned this thread into a mutual backslapping event (apologies everyone!) but hopefully these posts will encourage anyone with a novel hidden away to take the plunge and achieve some success with Apple, Amazon and a host of others.

Hi guys I'm new here, and I've just recently published my novel "His Niji" (Niji meaning rainbow in Japanese) through Book Baby onto the iBookstore. Anyway since I'm not really being seen on the iBookstore just yet, I'm wondering if I could go the Amazon route too? I'm in the USA, but I wanted to make sure I could legally do both the iBookstore, and Amazon. It might sound like a silly question but I wanted to make sure, and I've heard conflicting things about it. Thanks.

Hi there,

You can and you should. Just make sure that your suggested price on Amazon is no lower than on the iBookstore; that's part of Apple's deal. Amazon may choose to discount it, but that's up to them.

The very best of luck!

My book, The Slacker Confessions was first published in 2002. I recently took the time to make a new edition for Kindle and iBooks. Apple's process is taking ages, but amazon were really snappy.

So if you have a Kindle or run the app then check it out here for a few bucks.

True, it's not easy - you need an iTunes account for each country to check the charts there.

I signed in with my US account (the one I use when I'm over there) and can see you have five books... 2 in Spirituality, 1 in Self-Improvement and 1 in Business and Personal Finance.

There is no chart for Spirituality, but none of your titles appear in the Top 100 of Health, Mind & Body or in Business and Personal Finance.

I can check other categories if you like but to be honest, I sold a heck of a lot in the US and only just scraped the charts. As its a bigger market you have to sell many more than the UK to appear in the rankings.

Good Luck,

Adey

I provide formatting, and cover design and illustration for authors, as well as a writer with my own small press for publishing my own books. I love the Kindle and help many authors format their books for it. I used to like Smashwords, but since they signed on with the Apple iBookstore, they're growing more and more difficult to satisfy formatting wise.
