By nature, I have never liked wearing watches or jewelry. I have 185mm wrists, and decided to go with the 38mm because I figured it would be the least obtrusive and was about the same size as other watches I own (though never wear). Personally, I love it and think the 38mm looks and feels great.

I was originally a little concerned that the 38mm watch might seem like a 'girls' watch - but after doing a lot of research, I found that historically mens watches were much smaller than they are today, and that at one time a 38mm mens watch would be considered huge.

Realistically, though, 4mm is not much difference - but I am very happy that I went with the smaller watch.

I don't regret it, I like the size. Don't think I would want it any bigger :) ⌚️

Bought the 38mm because of the price.

It bothers me that some 42mm can be bought for $250 now

You can always sell your 38 and get a 42mm. I bought mine well before the price drops (July), but it doesn't bother me that they have dropped in price so much. I would have missed out on months of convenience!

I bought the 38mm after trying both sizes in the Apple Store with a variety of bands. I prefer smaller watches so the 38mm looked and felt right to me, and I kept fussing with the 42mm position on my wrist (I'm sure I would have gotten used to it).

What I discovered in going back and forth trying the different sizes was that the larger watch did not offer me any compelling reasons to choose it over the smaller one. The difference is really subtle. I could read the 38 as easily as the 42 throughout the demo routine, and I have had no trouble tapping targets with my finger. I think someone with thicker fingers would benefit from the slightly larger watch because there may be a bit more room between targets you are trying to tap. It's not an issue for me though.

I have 38mm but I would get a 42mm next time. The analogue faces, particularly the chronograph, look too small to me on the 38.

On traditional watches I wear between 42mm-45mm.

Apple watch real diameter is only 36.2mm for the 42mm (lug-to-lug) so I went straight with the 42mm without trying.
