Looking to pick up an iPad mini, but really prefer the current design to the rumoured no-home-button/thin bezel pro-like design for the 6. Plan is to order a 64GB/Cellular one over the next few days, that way I will be within my return window if the 6 is really really compelling.

But I had a quick question: Assuming the mini 6 comes out. Will the current mini still be sold at a reduced price with fewer options like they do with the iPhones, or will the mini disappear completely?

I can’t remember them ever selling two mini models simultaneously, but you may be able to find an older model in some other shops for a bit still.

They did in the earlier days (circa 2013-15?). The older mini was the "cheap" iPad.

Since the release of $329 mid-size iPads though, I don't think Apple will keep the mini 5 in production as a lower end model. I expect you'll have to get those via clearance sales or from Apple refurb store.
