I did a search but what I'm asking is so broad it returns a ton of unrelated results.

Anyway, I'm thinking about replacement my own 6 Plus battery ($30 vs $100 at the store). According to iFixit it doesn't seem too hard but I'm wondering about one thing.

If you have someone helping, holding the screen at the 90 degree angle the entire time, are steps 12-18 necessary (removal of the front panel assembly)? It seems like the battery can be replaced without doing this, but every tutorial seems to completely remove it. Everything being removed in steps 12-18 don't seem to be in the way or removing the battery, so if you have a helper supporting the screen can you just do steps 1-11, then 19-28 ... replace the battery, and reassemble? Or is there some reason the front panel assembly needs to be removed during the battery replacement process?

Thanks.
