Anyone reserve the iPad 2 at BB?

does anyone know if it matters when you reserve it? like do they call the people who reserved it first and they are the first to get the first shipment, or they call everyone on the list and whoever goes to the store first gets it?
 
I was there today and he said they either call you or email you, he wasn't sure, when one comes in that meets the specific product that you requested and when you are next on the list. He thought they give you a set amount of time to come in and claim it before they go on to the next person on the list. You have to go in to the store to make any list changes (i.e. you got one somewhere else and want to be taken off the list). He also said the gift card is refundable and just shows that you intend to spend the money at BB. The $100 can be used for anything, including towards the amount of the iPad or anything else.
 
I was at the BB store to do that. The guy says oh, you don't want this one as he was holding a ATT 3G in his hand...I snapped it up very quickly! No need to reserve one. They got the shipment 30 minutes before I got there Saturday. Yea!
 
One thing to keep in mind is that most good credit cards will double the manufacturers warranty, but that requires you put the ENTIRE charge on your card. If you use the $100 gift card then you won't be eligible for the credit card warranty extension.

I reserved a 32GB today and got the $100 gift card. But I intend on returning the gift card when I pick up my iPad.

What is so hard to understand about this. You give them $100 and they give you a $100 gift card. Its not an extra $100. When you pick up iPad, you use the gift card towards purchase. Its not an incentive. They now have $100 of your money because its on their gift card. So you will eventually spend it in a Best Buy store whether you put the $100 towards the iPad you bought or you buy something else. Or they will even refund you the $100 if you change your mind. You guys make things out to be so freakin complicated.
 
Anyone hear any information about this? Any shipments coming in today?

I'm getting anxious LOL :)
 
I'm also waiting to hear.. They told me I am 7th on the list so I am hoping I can get mine today.
 
I bought my ticket yesterday around 2 o'clock. They gave me a $100 gift card and told me I had to bring it back with the ticket and rest of the money when they called to come pick mine up.

Every Best Buy around here sold out on Friday. I went up there Saturday morning and reserved a 16GB black wifi only. As mentioned by others, I bought a $100 gift card that reserved my space. They told me when they call I have 48 hours to pick it up or it will be returned to stock. I asked when they would be receiving another shipment and they guy said that was up to Apple. I was probably 5th or so on the reserve list so when they get some in I'll be called.

I reserved a 32GB 3G (AT&T) at one, and took the same gift card to another Best Buy and reserved the 64Gb 3G (AT&T). I used the same gift card so, who ever calls first that's the one I'll pickup. I had the 32GB 3G Verizon, but in my area Verizon isn't that great and I travel abroad a lot.

im 1st in line at a best buy in detroit and just called them. they said the shipments come directly from apple and there is no way they can tell when they'll get anything.
 
I also reserved my Black 16gb Ipad at Best Buy. There are about 20 people in line ahead of me, but I am ok with that. I put the $100 deposit down on it. They did give me a gift card with it. They apparently put $100 on the Gift card when they give it to you. Then they take $100 off the price. If you want your money back, just take the receipt in with the gift card and you can get your refund.
 
So I'm seriously considering swapping out my lovely 32GB black wifi for a 64GB black wifi. So I went and reserved one today. I stopped by Target as well just in case but no go there. If the 64GB comes in before my return period is up, I may exchange.

I got nervous after I installed 9 GB (!) of apps.
 
I just reserved a 32GB Black AT&T at a small Best Buy store in Pottstown, PA, and they told me that they receive 2 shipments per week, and that 5 iPad's come in each box (they couldn't tell me how many boxes/skids are received on each shipment as Apple is in charge of who gets what). That was all the info they had, but it looks like more than others are gathering. Best of luck to all!
 
I reserved a 32GB WiFi/3G Saturday at 2:00 at my local Best Buy. Ninth on the list I was told, but I'm a little nervous.
All I did was hand write my information on a list.
This store had received 78 originally, which went quick.

I have been stalking this thread all morning, so maybe this will give hope to the others that are waiting! I reserved mine at 10:30 am Saturday, and was the 3rd person to reserve one. It's a 32 wifi white. Good luck everyone!

What city/state? I just want to check the inventory on Best buy and see if they are updating inventory when they come in or if they're just calling people and telling them.

Philadelphia suburbs. I will ask when I pick it up if it was part of a larger shipment, but I won't be able to get there until im done work around 430pm.
 
It's not a discount. It's not an incentive.

$100 turns into gift card and reservation.

You can use the gift card toward iPad.
