Curious on if anyone is going to make this move?

I had the 12 Pro then gave to my wife and got the 12. Reason was the 12 Pro is dang heavy. The 12 is a perfect weight.

The mini is interesting but so from the reviews the battery life isn’t good. Yea cause it’s a smaller phone with a smaller battery. But having the 8 and SE2020 previously the battery life sucked and don’t want to experience that again.

Thought you were all over the mini?

Not anymore. I’m so used to the 12 but don’t want to go back to horrible battery life. I’m loving the battery of the 12. And it wasn’t until I got the 12 that it I changed my mind.
😁. I have joined your camp. I had pre-booked the Mini (in a shop) last Friday and happened to play with the iPhone Mini's case in the same shop. By Monday, cancelled my order and was a proud owner of a white iPhone 12. The phone inspite of being longer and broader ( though minimally) than the X/XS size, feels a kilo lighter than them. Magic by Apple!

I preordered the mini and will compare that against my pro. The pro is a little too heavy and unwieldy but I think I can manage. Therefore going to see if the mini is a significant improvement in ergonomics and battery isn’t too bad.

My 12 Pro is being collected tomorrow for return, my black 12 mini 128GB is arriving Friday. Cannot wait! Using my original SE right now and much prefer a small and lightweight device.

Have a 12 Pro and am contemplating the mini. Wife's mini due to arrive Friday. If I love it I'll exchange mine. It's technically outside the 14 day window but the manager of my Apple shop said they'd make the exception since they'll have the mini I'd want in stock.

I have a return started on the 12 Pro and have a mini arriving this Friday. The 12 Pro is not as comfortable to hold as the 11 Pro and feels unbalanced in my hand. The camera and battery life tradeoff is a concern, but the size and lighter weight of the mini may outweigh that loss.

How is your wife’s mini coming today?

Me.

Have the iPhone 11 Pro in pacific blue. Just finding it a little big and heavy. And I’m coming from an iPhone 11 Pro Max!

Have to return it to Apple by 24th November so good that I can handle them both and decide.

Only thinking if it is too light at 133g? Interestingly, it’s lighter than the iPhone 4 which was 137g 😳

Same boat as you. Will be interesting to hear what you make of it.

The things I’ll miss are the x2 zoom and LiDAR sensor- not sure if it makes a diffence to photo quality though.

Battery life is less than the other 12's but certainly not bad. Better than the XS and anything earlier than that. Check out this review where they get almost 7 hours of mixed constant use:

return 12pro feel awkward when hold no like & keep 11pro & order mini have friday:) & look 12 max in store may be like no like

iPhone 4 frame was stainless steel (and glass back) and to heavy for it’s size in my opinion.

iPhone 5 had aluminium frame and back and weighted only 112 grams!

I watched that review the mini battery is about 20% of the 12. Which for a smaller phone isn’t bad.

It is an odd year to have so many different iPhone models. I’d like to go hands-on with all four, but the decision is going to come down to comparing specs and YouTube videos.

That being said I’d feel a little guilty if it takes two or three tries to find the perfect iPhone, even though I’m beyond OCD with them in that new phone honeymoon phase so they’re returned in the same condition they were received in. (With the iPhone X I even washed my hands before using it...)

I really like the design of iPhone 12, but I’m worried I’ll miss having the telephoto lens. Once I jump up to the Pro, I end up easily justifying the extra $100 to step up to the Max which is a larger phone than I originally wanted. Considering I’m making the decision to live more in the moment and spend less time on my phone, that may mean the Mini could be the best choice; realistically, the 12 is probably the best middle ground.

Regardless if I get headaches/migraines from the PWM on the OLED display like I did on iPhone X I’ll have to return it anyway so it could be a moot point.
