Got my used iPad air 2 from a great deal here on the marketplace and this thing is amazing. Can't get over the lightness of this thing and the screen is just crystal clear. Not to mention how fast it is and I have already recognized I made the right move in just the little time I've casually used it.

The MBA will be relegated to work days, iPad at night and relaxation on the couch and porch enjoying a libation in the Texas sun.

Thanks everyone for the feedback

I have both as well. I had the iPad air 2 before i bought the new 2015 13 inch macbook pro. My old laptop was approaching 6 1/2 years old. I really liked the hp laptop, but it became so slow and the battery had to be plugged in all the time or it would die.

I find myself using the iPad less now that I have the macbook mostly because i can be in bed and type things faster, but when I travel it take it with me because its lighter. I can also take the iPad to work when there is downtime. I get less use out of it, but it still has a purpose.

Anyone here using the smart case that covers the entire ipad air 2 versus just the magnetic snap on for the front?
I hate to case this beautiful device but I am being realistic with a 3 year old in the house. :)

Looks to be a very nice case but a big price tag at $80

I have a smart case and love it. I like it so much more than the covers.

I *just* got an iPad Air 2 that joins my 13" MBA and iPhone 5S. Totally didn't NEED it, but WANTED it. It is my first table, and I like it. (Except for the fact that there is no stock Calculator/Weather/Stock apps - what gives????)

For me, I'm using the iPad 2 Air with a 53 Pencil Stylus and it works great with the NotesPlus app. I tried several stylus and apps and this combo seems the best.

I know Mr. jobs said stylus was not something I'm supposed to want, but I love note taking with my set up. Plus, lounge surfing, etc. If you have the financial means, then go for it!

I agree. I have a 13" 2013 MacBook Air which is the best computer I have ever used period. Use it for programming, research, document creation and email. Recently purchased iPad Air 2, I use the Adonit touch with pixelpoint in GoodNotes and NoteShelf. It has replaced my paper notebooks completely. Plus I can can use the iPad for surfing and quick emails and so on. One advantage for me with the iPad is that is saves the battery of both my iPhone and MacBook Air. I really like handoff for documents. And I can send texts and answer phone calls on the iPad without grabbing the phone.

The iPad is a fantastic supplement for both the MacBook Air and the iPhone!

I could not agree more. I have the exact same usage. I love continuity between all 3 devices.

For my own personal use, I prefer the MBA. If the Mini 3 came with the Air 2 upgrades, I would've gone for that.

But the Air 2 is the better device to share within a household.

Over the last year or so I've become a Mac convert. It started with partitioning part of my computer to be a Hackintosh just playing around. Loved OSX, that lead to a MBA and ditching my Android devices for IOS. Haven't looked back.

I do some work from home, and use my Hackintosh setup with dual 27" monitors for work and play there. I rarely use my MBA at home, I prefer the power/convenience of my desktop.

I absolutely love my MBA though, and use it when working out of the house, pretty much on a daily basis. My Ipad Mini was definitely a "want" purchase, and while I could live without it I really enjoy having it around.

It probably gets more use than both computers combined. I use it for multi-tasking, light browsing, all of my books and a few apps I like. Also great for presentations.

There's a few apps that make life a lot easier. Actions for Ipad, basically allows you to setup hotkeys/macros on your mac that you control from icons on your Ipad is invaluable to me. Air Display is great for more screen real-estate, although it'd be 100x better on an Ipad Air than a Mini.

My Ipad has worked itself into my life/workflow extremely well. I find that it compliments my MBA, they both have their uses - and often I use them at the same time.

YMMV, but I personally love carrying both around and they both get plenty of use. Since I'm used to it, if I forget my Ipad it gives me that "something's missing" feeling like when I forget my phone.

If you see yourself using it I'd definitely recommend an Ipad in conjunction with a MBA.
