Anyone run Powerdirector 10 through VMWare?

I'm looking to get a digital video editor with lots of effects that is decently simple to use. I've read PowerDirector is excellent.

Anyone run this through VMWare? Or have better suggestion with lots of effects and transitions?

I want something a little more powerful than iMovie with lots of effects and transitions. iMovie is great, but I'm trying to do something a little more robust than what iMovie has to offer.
