A1311 changed HDD to SSD. Solder bridged SATA pin 6+7 to quiet HDD fan down min speed (1100 RPM) Have done this many times. Problem is some A1311 HDD fan makes a faint hissing/squealing noise. Seen this a couple of times now. Tried a used replacement from ebay in the past and it also hissed so its hit and miss. But clearly this smaller fan is wearing faster than the 2 bigger ones for CPU+ODD/GPU

SSD is 250GB Samsung 850 EVO. Probably not very hot. Wondering if anyone have SSD longevity data disconnecting the HDD fan?

I realize its "safer" with HDD fan running at min speed. Just wondering if anyone has it disconnected running SSD long term without problems.
