I'm posting from iPad, but go on Facebook and search for LaCie worldwide. There's an image teasing about an announcement with what appears to be a MacBook Pro with two thunderbolt ports and a screen instead of a keyboard.

Remember the whole deal about touchscreen with feedback response? Let the rumors begin...

yeah, what is that thing?

Not really. They just photoshopped another TB port on a MBP.

And a touchscreen keyboard? I'm not speaking for its viability or attractiveness, but it does seem an odd thing to photoshop. Unless of course they're trying to stir up some free press, which is always possible.

Whatever it is, it's no mac (no command key), and its ugly (look at your macbook, the detail, the cleanness of cuts.. not the rugged steel punched looks lacie has in the pic).

Perhaps some strange take on an iPad case that makes it more laptop-ish?

I'm an anti-fan towards touch screen keyboards, imagine how 'uncomfortable' it would be! and also what is the need of have two thunderbolt ports on the MBP?

OT: Sorry, but I thought you were meant 'LaCie' from 'Final Fantasy' (video game rofl) took a few seconds to get my mind back on track to understand your meaning

Don't forget, the Thunderbolt ports are also Mini Display ports.
Some people have Mini DV > HDMI > Screen set-up. Having a second Mini DV/Thunderbolt port is actually a good idea.

Just hope that USB 3.0 comes out on the new Mac range because the cost of Thunderbolt HDD's is still crazy high.

Me too, but there were rumors of some touchscreen technology that provides touch feedback right before the iPad 3 release, with the company implying they were working with Apple. Making touchscreen work is certainly appealing to me, because I feel disconnected without the feedback from the buttons.

Yeah, I always think of FF when I see LaCie!

I'm pretty sure the image looks the way it is to give the impression of a MacBook without advertising one. I imagine they're trying to get people to focus on the fact that there's a thunderbolt port and they're releasing a peripheral for its use.

Looks like they took the rugged design of their "rugged" external hard drives and scaled it to fit a MacBook Pro.

Maybe a heavy duty snap case that protects better than the current solutions on the market.

this image makes absolutely no sense at this point. it has the design of their rugged drives, plus a funky keyboard, plus what looks to be the side of a macbook with two thunderbolt ports. something isn't adding up but hey i'll admit that i'm interested in finding out what it is.

Maby that picture is similar to the wolf in a sheep clothe.
Anybody had thought that maby that is a new macbook pro in an organge pad? :D

I could see this just being an advertisement for a new MBP case they are making, and they just photoshopped something in the case that would get the attention of people who wouldn't otherwise see.

At least it's Wednesday so it's not a long wait.

My guesses:

- a thunderbolt docking station
- a new series of macbook cases

In any case, this is interesting, even though the "MBP" is clearly photoshopped. Maybe there's a grain of truth behind this?
