Installed the latest beta's on my SE and 12 Pro Max. The mask unlock is cool, but my watch went from full charge to 10% after an hour at the gym this morning. Just curious, I know it's beta and you get what you get and don't get upset.

Running 14.5 on a 11proMax and the watch on latest 7.4, the watches battery behaves like before the beta install so far. Must admit, that i dont run many 3rd party apps on the S6, only sygic, workoutdoors, justpressrecord and google maps as an occassional replacment for apples maps.

Thanks, I don't run much either. Maybe it was an anomaly. I just gave the watch a full charge and will monitor closely. There is a possibility I thought my watch was on the charger overnight and it wasn't.

Well, I took it off the charger at 100% 15 minutes ago and now it's down to 74%. Could it be the Face ID Mask thing?

I read turning off syncing for all media and audio apps solved the problem. I can vouch for that.

Just to chime in and comment that, after 5 days, battery life is back to normal. Should have been a reindexing process that (AFAIK), runs after some updates (weirdly, not all of them) and drains a lot of battery until it finishes.

In the past, I've had OS updates kill my battery life, 100% to shutdown in under 4 hours (I think it was a regular release)
an unpair and re-pair sorted it out.

I'm also currently on the watch and iOS betas, I haven't noticed a change in battery life

I ended up unpairing and repairing the watch which seemed to help. It is still draining faster than before but not nearly what it was doing right after update, which was 100% drain in an hour.

Spoke too soon. After 1 ½ day of normal battery life, last night, while I was sleeping, it reverted to the fast drainage. Weird, but it is how it is.

Oh, well. Just wait for the next beta (was hoping there would be one today) and hope for the best.

Similar experiences here. Yesterday was a really good day as I had 60% left after 12 hours. But other days it drains in real time.

Today I found out that the ECG app is not working and it acts as if the crown sensor is active all the time (as opposed to only when I put my finger on it). If that is going on all the time, that would very much account for the battery drainage.

At the very least it is a bug that I can report to Apple, so I did it.

Any of you have seen that issue? Just open the ECG app and it starts to measure right away, without the finger on the crown sensor and, of course, haphazard readings all over the place. Killing the app, restarting the watch does nothing. It's as if it is always with the sensor on.

all I know is my Apple Watch series 5, 44mm, Titanium, went from 99% maximum battery capacity to 89% in like 1 month. WTF

I'm on same exact setup as you. 12 Pro Max & SE on 14.5/7.4 respectively. I've not noticed any additional battery drain. That said, I've not set foot in a gym since 1989.

from 80% to 40% overnight
