Sure, I can, but not just yet. Let's say in about two years from now, perhaps after the M5 or M6 arrives.

What exactly do you need from them that you can't already do with M4? I can only imagine it has to be multi-monitor support. Because otherwise the current Air should do everything else better already.

Touch bar was a cool concept but we kind of knew Apple wouldn't be able to keep it around for long. The idea was great but the execution left much to be desired. It hurt my eyes whenever I glanced at it, and there was no haptic.

I have a M4 Mac Mini.

I now use the MacBook only in the evenings and at weekends, or when I go somewhere, so I can patiently wait two more years. I simply have a very good MacBook Pro. :)

I guess if you're a light user, it works out. Personally I have just one Macbook Air at home now, and that's it. Gave my last Intel Macbook Pro to a nephew. I'm already spending too much time at work with computers so not having to deal with more of them at home helps to alleviate the stress.

The rare times I need a bigger monitor, the M2 Macbook Air can still connect just fine. It'll continue to last for a while. I'm not in a hurry even when an OLED Macbook Air comes out next year.

I'd imagine this is Apple's predicament with M series Macbook. They know people are holding on to their machines for much longer so upgrades have been very incremental and minor.

Still using an early 2015 MBP13 . Maybe once a month or so when I travel . It's stuck on Monterrey , but runs Win 11 just fine via BootCamp (thanks Rufus). It's probably the most trouble free laptop I've used . Increased the SSD to 1T some years back from 256Mb and left it alone from there . Battery's still good for 6-7 hours . I'm just using it as a travel machine to run email and internet in 11, plus maybe some light image editing in MacOS . Probably keep using it as long as it keeps getting Windows security updates .

Using 2020 MacBook Pro with Intel. 13-inch screen, 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, 16 gig of RAM, 512 gig of storage. Still works like new. Replaced the battery with a 50 dollar kit from Amazon - now runs all day on battery again. And the 2020 Intel MacBooks will run Tahoe MacOS 26 too, so mine is in line with all my other Macs as well! See no reason to change.

Your guess is incorrect. The computers enable my living. The M4 Mac Mini does that now, so the MacBook Pro has become more of a leisure device, as well as for some work tasks.

Alright!

In many ways, yes. Apple has to pay for all that technology and, there are other dependencies due to that. Most times, Apple has to buy those technologies from actual competitors.

I did until this month when I made the switch to Apple silicone for both my main desktop Mac and my travel Mac. I still have my Intel Macs but they are more test mules for trying Apple’s current MacOS using OpenCore Legacy patcher.

Right now, they are running the latest Sequioa OS and running great. MacOS 26 Tahoe is not ready to be installed on these legacy Macs without running with issues so this was part of my decision to finally set aside my Intel Macs and start going with silicone Macs going forward.
