i remember when the 11' Macbook Air rumors started i was in an airport holding my work 15' HP crappy laptop, i remember thinking 11' Macbook Air is all i need for travelling..

i bought the 11' Macbook Air and i love it so much it's the best computer i have ever had but just the other day i was carrying it and thinking i wish if it was even lighter and would never travel with something heavier! :D

do you think it's possible they make it lighter? i don't think they should make it smaller because 11'6 is the perfect size! ;)

Yes, they can make it lighter, they call them "iPad".

Even ligher would be something like Google "glasses" that project the image into the eye and have no screen at all

Next they will make (I'm not kidding, I really do expect these in 20 or so years) "Apple iContacts" Those would be contact lenses with built-in displays.

i think the weight is just about right, not too light so it doesnt feel flimsy. i think the only improvements would be maybe a little thinner towards the back, and extend the display into the bezel to make the most out of the physical size.

No, I don't think either of the MBAs are too heavy now. In fact, I love the form factor of the MBA, and, as I travel a lot, weight matters to me, and I find it a superb computer. I have had a 13" MBA for nearly three years now, and it is easily the best computer I have ever had.

However, while I love the look of, the size of and the weight of, the 11" MBA, and am very seriously tempted to buy one, the only thing that is holding me back is that the screen might be too small for my ageing eyes; as I use it for work - and research and write a lot in the course of my work - I need to be able to use a screen that does not strain my eyes. But too heavy, not at all; it is a wonderful design for someone who needs to create content as well as consume it.

I for one would actually prefer it to be lighter. 1Kg is good, but the lighter, the more portable, and the more portable, the better. That said, I am not ready to sacrifice battery life nor screen real-estate in exchange you can never get enough of the first, and the second is just perfect to work on the go.
